I have been enjoying a rather social agenda lately which has included a cozy cuppa with a new friend Kirsten, I checked out her new blog today and it's great to see she has been finding some time to craft. Hearing about her hectic life has made me very thankful for my more laid back schedule, these Monday mornings of blogging, writing, making and working are one of my favourite times of the week.

Speaking of new friends I spent a wonderfully lazy Sunday with Kim, Ro and their beautiful girls. The chicks hung out making cupcakes chatting and playing with some of the sweetest little ladies, while the boys went off into the bush to fish for trout. Unfortunately they arrived home fish-less but cold and I hope, satisfied, while Ro shot these amazing photos at our place... I'm so impressed as it was such a grey, misty, miserable day! I hope he doesn't mind but I love them so much I just have to share them!

What a very clever chappie indeed! This has to be one of my favourites, this is the tram in which Simon used to live when I first met him, I was really taken by it, such a romantic idea but cold and draughty in reality!

Simon is such a funny guy, rough around the edges but totally down to earth and these are the things I like about him.. I think we are probably the most unlikely couple! I was really pleased he was able to spend time this Ro this weekend. We often spend time with his friends, but the opportunity for him to participate in my life doesn't occur so often. I think he actually really enjoys the chance to get to know people from a different social and educational background to himself as he doesn't often get the opportunity being a tradie.... although I do sometimes wish he would curb the language!

I know I say this often but you really should check out Thaw magazine, Kim and Ro's brainchild. I'm finishing up a piece for the next edition now... I'm a wee bit nervous as this is my first foray into the printed text but it's been so much fun so far. It's a great mag not only focusing on whats hip n happening locally but some great features and interviews. you can get the winter edition here and look out for me in the Spring edition released in September!

It was great hanging out achieving very little yesterday other than relaxing and forgetting about responsibility...I could have fished into the night. Simon is rad....a true man of adventure and reality. I dug his ice fishing and deer hunting tales. Made me jealous. And he's a good curry maker. Looking forward to coming back......maybe next time I'll slow cook a pot roast in the ground! (and I promise to spend more time with the chicks!)
